The episode with Chromeo on
“Live From Daryl’s House,” the online music show masterminded by Hall
& Oates frontman Daryl Hall, has just premiered. Their set include the Hall
& Oates songs “Family Man” and “Adult Education” and a pair of
Chromeo songs: “Tenderoni” and “Waiting 4 U.” . “We’ll be pinching ourselves for years
to come,” Chromeo guitarist/singer Dave 1 said of the experience.
“Given that he pretty much wrote half our songs, it was about time we
met Daryl Hall in real life." Check out the entire episode here.

It was a heady time for America; the economy was doing something, the kids were jamming to some new band or another, and the popularity of bum bums continued to soar unabated.
In the midst of this turmoil, god-like Japanese musical experimenters the Boredoms embarked on a project of unprecedented scale: 77 drummers playing for 77 minutes starting at 7 PM on 7/7/07, accompanied solely by EYE on a custom-built guitar gong and the sound of 8,000+ eyeballs not blinking.
The world's most numerologically significant all-drum concert, a ten part documentary with new episode every day this week. Part 1 - 4 are now live.
And speaking of rare Boredoms action, if you find yourself in Brooklyn stop by the this-month-only VICE Gallery and check out 2008 Photo Show:
The 2008 Vice Magazine Photo Show, 8/1 - 8/31
VICE Gallery
99 N 10th St, between Berry and Wythe

We say so 'cause we'll have the entire Boredoms' Super Roots catalogue for 25% off, as well as other VICE goods, available for sale at the Gallery.
King Khan and The Shrines really knows how to put on a good show. Check out these great performances from the Daily Habit on Fuel TV. FIRECRACKERS! No Regrets:
King Khan stopped by Studio Q at CBC to talk about how he used to listen to Indian music in the womb and how he now (to kill time while touring) makes collages of Syd Barret with the body of a naked lady. Check it out here.
Also head over to Pitchfork and read another King Khan interview and watch a video.
Black Lips, Deerhunter and King Khan and The Shrines are also the bestest friends. Check out a clip Khan did for MTV Newsroom below and see photos from the McCarren Park Pool Show at brooklynvegan.com (more photos of the pool show here).
Know what? You can actually help nominate Chromeo, The Raveonettes and Black Lips for the MTV Music Awards.
It is possible to vote for Chromeo "Fancy Footwork" and Raveonettes "Dead Sounds" as best dancing in video.
You can also vote for Chromeo "Bonafied Lovin" and Black Lips "Veni, Vidi, Vici" as best new artist.
Japanese Motors are the most exciting band to emerge from Orange County since the heyday of Social Distortion and TSOL. Hailing from Costa Mesa and comprised of RVCA pro-surfer and singer Alex Knost, guitarist Nolan Hall, bassist Chris Vail, and drummer Andrew Atkinson, the band is known around Southern California for the insane, all-night blowouts they put on as much as for the driving, raucous garage pop they set the partying to.
Rather than fight the influence of their surroundings like so many of their So Cal contemporaries, Japanese Motors have channeled it into their music, making tunes every bit as sun-baked and laid-back as their coastal environs and rife with positive imagery. "Most bands from here are trying to sound like they're from London or New York," Nolan says. "We embrace where we're from." In return for their local pride, the Southern Californian surf community has embraced them right back. Japanese Motors are part of RVCA's Artist Network Program and fellow surfers Emmett and Brendan Malloy (who made three White Stripes videos) directed the video for the band's first single "Single Fins & Safety Pins."
On August 19th, Vice Records will release this single, "Single Fins & Safety Pins," which contains the album version and a radio edit of the song, as well as b-side "Coors Lite," another track from their upcoming self-titled full length debut, due in October 2008. Japanese Motors hit the road in August, starting off in NYC, winding their way down the East Coast before heading back home to play with the Black Lips and at LA's Detour Fest (see full list of dates below).
The Black Lips announce new tour dates, playing Lollapalooza (tomorrow), Free show at McCarren Park Pool (Aug 3), Detour Fest and many more:
